03-09-05 Update on BCH Recording Project
On Tuesday March 8th 2005 I headed into Trif's home studio to complete the vocal recording for my submission to the forthcoming Friends of the Barrington Coffee House CD. This was my third time in Trif's studio for this project, following my first session on 01-26-05 and my second session on 02-15-05. The goal of this third session was the same as the goal of the second session, to record the vocals for the final verse of "Her Song."
The bad news is that even my best take of the session had a few vocal performance errors in it. The good news is that Trif indicated that my best take of the session was good enough for use on the forthcoming CD. Being uncertain that I could sing the final verse from start to finish without any errors, and being considerate of Trif's time, I agreed to call the vocals "done." Moving forward, I hope that my vocal ability continues to improve, so that my future recording projects yield more results in less studio time. For the moment, I can feel satisfied that one of my original songs is about to be published, and feel hopeful that Trif's follow-up studio work will polish some of the rough edges off the recorded performance.
Further updates on the BCH CD project will follow in the days and weeks ahead. I extend my sincere thanks to Trif for including me in this great project, and for working so dilligently in the studio to help both me and the Barrington Coffee House put our proverbial best feet forward.
