Thanks Again

I wanted to take a moment to again say "Thanks" for a nice gig turnout; March 5th's Crossfire performance at Coffee Garden drew, over the course of the evening, twenty people, which was just about perfect given the size of the venue. Steven and I remarked afterwards that Crossfire has been blessed now with two good shows in a row.

I hope I don't offend by commenting twice now on numbers, but reality is this... First, I've been playing music long enough such that I really do need to be playing for an audience. Second, the music scene -- especially in this difficult economy -- is such that our events really NEED to be drawing audiences, otherwise venues wouldn't have us back and these events would cease to happen.

Of course, people shouldn't be coming to our events because they feel obligated, but rather because they enjoy them... and feedback seems to indicate that people are in fact enjoying themselves. Still, I realize that there are myriad other entertainment options, including cable and satellite TV, computer games, and sports, not to mention other live music acts... So I feel it's important to say "Thanks" to those who choose to come out every now and then and spend a couple hours of their lives with us.

We've got another Crossfire gig on the calendar for Friday June 25th at Coffee Garden. Between now and then Steven and I will be working on new Crossfire material and also refreshing ourselves on Steven Paul Band material (with me on bass), as well as scouting out venues and supporting other local acts. We'll both be hanging out at Freddie's Tavern on Saturday night (March 13th), checking out one of their regular acts which neither of us has seen yet.
