Two Big April Events!

Hi All, I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about two big events coming up this month.

On Saturday April 5th I am helping to run a big benefit concert for Studio LuLoo. What makes it big? Number one, that there are at least sixteen acts on the bill, including a bunch of my friends and including some noted area talents like the band Smash Palace. Number two, that the future of Studio LuLoo rides on the success of this event.

Studio LuLoo is currently several months behind in making rent payments, and as such needs immediate financial assistance to continue operating. Proprieter Sara O'Brien is in the process of re-organizing the Studio as a non-profit artist co-operative organization -- with help from others including local musicians like myself, John Shaughnessy, and Rob Whitekettle -- but even as a non-profit entity the Studio is still liable for rent payments.

If you are able to come out on Saturday and make at least the requested $10 admission donation, please do so. I make a special appeal to my non-starving artist friends, those among us who, like me, pursue music as a hobby or passion, while making a living at a more lucrative career in accounting or engineering or law etc. If you love music, if you value having access to a place like LuLoo where you can hear it and play it, and if you have financial means beyond those of a starving artist, please consider stepping up and contributing some bucks. On Saturday April 19th is my four-band extravanganza, Paul Sehnen's Musical Spring Fling Thing, at Studio LuLoo. Of course, if Studio LuLoo closes its doors after Saturday April 5th, the Spring Fling Thing may not happen. Therefore I'm plugging the April 5th benefit show especially hard right now, and will tell you more about the April 19th show after April 5th. For now, information about the planned April 19th show can be found here: http://www.paulsehnen.com/node/156

Best Regards and thanks for reading,
Paul
